Oisix's Unique Initiative for Labor Thanksgiving Day
As we approach Labor Thanksgiving Day, a time to honor the hard work of those who provide us with food, Oisix, a subscription-based food delivery service, is embarking on a charming initiative. Starting from October 28, 2025, Oisix will switch its delivery packaging to feature a special design that expresses gratitude to all those who play a vital role in the creation of food. The campaign, named “Thank You to All Creators,” reflects Oisix’s deep appreciation for food producers and chefs alike.
The significance of Labor Thanksgiving Day, which originates from Japan’s ancient harvest festival, resonates strongly with Oisix, which began its journey as an online grocery store. This day serves as a reminder to be thankful for the natural bounty we receive and the tireless efforts of those involved in bringing food to our tables. The temporary switch to customized cardboard packaging is not just about aesthetics; it’s a heartfelt gesture aimed at showcasing the interconnected journey of food from the farm to our dinner plates.
Evolving Communication Through Cardboard
Oisix has always utilized cardboard as a medium for communication with its customers throughout the year. Recently, they launched a project to provide support in the wake of natural disasters, coinciding with the blooming of sakura trees in Noto, highlighting their commitment to remembering and aiding communities in need. With a membership base of 352,056 as of June 2025, Oisix’s services are widely embraced across Japan, proving that their dedication to quality and community resonates with many.
Their eco-conscious approach is evident in their packaging choices, which are made from 100% unbleached recycled materials. This not only minimizes environmental impact during production, but also maintains the necessary durability for home delivery. Beginning February 2024, Oisix will utilize these sustainable materials for their deliveries. Additionally, they have crafted their packaging strategy to reduce wastage, manufacturing only what is necessary for each delivery.
Oisix was founded in the year 2000 with a vision to tackle societal issues related to food and nutrition. This includes ongoing enhancements to their packaging to align with their core value of being responsible stewards of the environment. Their dedication goes beyond just delivering great food; they are committed to making sustainable choices across all aspects of their operations.
