Horiuchi, representing his venture, Aqzoo, took home two prestigious awards: the TAIAN Award and the BaseMe Award.

Aqzoo, a venture born from Okayama University, aims to create a world where nature, humanity, and society are intricately connected. During the pitch, Horiuchi elaborated on Aqzoo's vision and its latest initiatives directed towards achieving this goal. His team is in the process of developing a natural capital data infrastructure that integrates and quantifies various data from aquariums, zoological parks, and habitats related to breeding, health, and environment.

The objective is to provide firms with visible impacts and actionable data concerning biodiversity, which aligns with frameworks like TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) disclosures. This innovative approach aids businesses in comprehensively managing nature-related risks while fostering conservation efforts in both zoological institutions and natural habitats. As Horiuchi explained, the integration of these data sources is intended to establish a new ecosystem, promoting social impact models that contribute positively to biodiversity preservation and enhancement.
