content creation of local tourism resources that can effectively foster tourism demand in various regions throughout Japan.

Initiative Overview
This initiative aims to spread the economic effects of tourism across the entire country and effectively expand tourism consumption. The ultimate goal is to alleviate
overtourism through sustainable local invitation efforts that tap into the diverse regional resources of Japan. By promoting the supply of tourism content that meets the demands of inbound tourists, the project will support local governments, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), and private businesses in creating and sharing tourism content.
Furthermore, the initiative places a particular emphasis on the development of high-quality, high-value tourism content for inbound tourists. Key areas of focus include the
gastronomy sector, which has the potential to generate positive economic ripple effects for local industries.
Funding Support
The initiative provides financial assistance to eligible entities, including local governments, DMOs, and private businesses, with the following support structure:

New Creation Type: Up to
4 million JPY, with the portion exceeding 4 million eligible for 1/2 of the cost for projects capped at
21 million JPY (minimum project cost of 6 million JPY).
2.
Sector-Focused (Gastronomy): Up to
4 million JPY fixed, with amounts over that eligible for 1/2 of the cost for projects capped at
25 million JPY (minimum project cost of 6 million JPY).
3.
Quality Improvement Type: Up to
8 million JPY fixed, with amounts over that eligible for 1/2 of the cost for projects capped at
42 million JPY (minimum project cost of 12 million JPY).
Application Period
This funding program will open for applications from
February 27, 2024, at 13:00 until
April 2, 2024, at 12:00. Timely submission of applications is crucial, as late submissions will not be accepted.
