American Power Systems Introduces Innovative Dual Alternator for Nissan Patrol Enhancements

American Power Systems Unveils Dual Alternator Solution for Nissan Patrol

American Power Systems, Inc. (APS) has launched an innovative dual alternator bracket kit designed specifically for the Nissan Patrol, a vehicle known for its reliability in security and defense roles. The Nissan Patrol has gained prominence as a steadfast platform, particularly for demanding commercial applications. With the growing need for more electrical power to support additional equipment and armor, APS’s new kit provides a timely solution for operators across various sectors.

The dual alternator kit is compatible with 2017-2024 Nissan Patrol Y62 models featuring a 5.6L V8 petrol engine. It allows for the integration of APS's high-output alternators with minimal modifications to the original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) configuration under the hood. Operators can opt for 12V, 24V, or 48V high-output alternatives, fitting secondary power systems ranging from 12 to 48 volts, thus adding versatility to their power solutions.

Increasing Demand for Power

Amy Lank, the President and CEO of APS, highlighted the significance of reliable power during security missions: "The need for dependable electrical support escalates sharply when outfitting the Nissan Patrol for security or defense operations due to the increased armor and specialized gear. Our dual alternator bracket kit provides operators with the extra power required to operate advanced technological systems seamlessly."

These advanced systems can include anti-IED jammers, communications equipment, satellite gear, and climate control units. Such enhancements ensure that the vehicle remains effective in the field and keeps personnel safe and connected, even in challenging environments.

Proven Performance and Durability

Since launching its product lineup for the Nissan Patrol in 2021, APS has introduced various high-output alternators. These include 255- and 360-amp HPI models as well as higher amperage options of 290- and 390-amp Ultra Performance at Idle (UPI) models in 2025. There is also a high idle controller kit specifically designed for the Nissan Patrol.

All APS products go through a rigorous development and testing process to ensure they meet industry standards for performance and durability. With over 2,000 vehicles tested and recorded more than 18,000 miles of performance evaluation at the Nevada Automotive Test Center, these high-output alternators are designed to deliver reliable power even in the most stringent conditions.

"APS has built its reputation on delivering quality and innovation, and we are confident in our products' performance due to our meticulous development processes," said Lank. The global distribution of APS products, now found in over 10,000 vehicles across various continents, underscores the company's commitment to excellence.
