Paralyzed Veterans of America Unveils Inspiring 'ONE of ONE' Campaign for Disabled Veterans

Introducing 'ONE of ONE': A Campaign of Hope

On September 1, 2026, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) announced an inspiring new campaign titled 'ONE of ONE'. This initiative aims to shed light on the organization's significant contributions to improving the lives of disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities across the country. With a comprehensive approach, the campaign's goals stretch beyond raising awareness; it seeks to advocate for the rights and well-being of the entire disability community.

A Year-Long Initiative

The 'ONE of ONE' campaign is structured as a year-long initiative that spans 53 weeks, promising a continuous flow of storytelling that showcases the impact of PVA's work. From highlighting personal narratives of those affected by spinal cord injuries to celebrating the programs that make a difference, this campaign aims to inspire and educate the public. Alongside this storytelling effort, PVA has planned to launch several key resources, including publications, public engagement events, and celebrity Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to amplify its message.

A Legacy of Impact

As Robert Thomas, PVA's National President and a U.S. Army veteran, states: "Over the past 80 years, PVA has transformed specialized care within the VA healthcare system and has become a pioneering force for disability rights. Our impact goes beyond just one organization—it shapes the systems and standards that govern lives."

The campaign represents a crucial opportunity for PVA to illustrate its broad scope of work, which includes advocating for legislative changes such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and ensuring accessibility in public spaces. PVA has been a longtime advocate of sports for disabled veterans, having pioneered wheelchair basketball and contributed to the formation of adaptive sports regulations.

Why 'ONE of ONE' Matters

Carl Blake, PVA CEO, emphasizes that this campaign reflects the organization's commitment to inclusivity and innovation. "We invite the nation to witness PVA through a new lens, enhancing public awareness of our role in the disability community while reaffirming our dedication to veterans with spinal cord injuries and diseases."

PVA's work extends globally; with publications reaching over 60 countries in multiple languages, the organization is a beacon of hope and a source of knowledge for millions. The organization ensures veterans access the benefits they earned and works tirelessly to improve health care standards and opportunities through research and robust advocacy.
