DEWALT® Awards $200,000 in Scholarships to Future Tradespeople

DEWALT®, a prominent Stanley Black & Decker brand (NYSE: SWK), has announced the allocation of $200,000 in scholarships to support 40 aspiring tradespeople across the United States and Canada. This initiative, part of DEWALT's Grow the Trades program, emphasizes the company's dedication to bridging the skills gap in the trades sector, with a total investment of $60 million targeted at trade education by 2030.

As the need for skilled workers continues to rise, it's crucial to cultivate and empower future professionals who can address the challenges in various trades. James Oh, the President and General Manager of DEWALT, stated, "As the demand for skilled tradespeople continues to rise, it's essential to invest in the next generation of professionals who will build our communities and drive progress. We are proud to support the next generation of tradespeople through scholarships that help remove barriers and create opportunities."

The scholarship recipients represent a diverse group of individuals pursuing careers in critical areas, including electrical, carpentry, HVAC, welding, and more. Here are some highlights:

  • - Allison Reiter – Welding: Hailing from a family farm in Ohio, Allison discovered her love for welding during her high school days. Now attending Western Welding Academy, she eagerly anticipates a career working on pipelines and oil rigs. "I can't wait to dive into this career path and continue growing my knowledge and passion for this trade," she expresses.

  • - Jacob Davis – Electrical Technician: Currently advancing his education at Laurel Technical Institute in Uniontown, PA, Jacob views trade school as a pivotal step toward his future. “Trade school fits my strengths and gives me a clear direction for my future. I’m motivated to finish strong, graduate, and start building a career I can be proud of," states Davis.

  • - Audry Ford – Welding: Audry found her passion at a DEWALT-sponsored soldering camp. Now at Lincoln Tech in Texas, she is mastering the skills needed for future employment in welding and fabrication. "Learning welding has opened so many doors for me.
