LUMINE Singapore Celebrates One Year of Success
LUMINE Singapore, operated by LUMINE Co., Ltd., has proudly marked its first anniversary on August 26, 2025. The store, located in the vibrant Raffles City Singapore, was beautifully adorned with “LUMINE Blue,” creating a warm atmosphere for all visitors.
On August 29, a special VIP event was organized to celebrate this significant milestone, which attracted over 3,000 attendees, including 44 distinguished VIP guests. This exclusive event featured a showcase of new collections and unique workshops in collaboration with the Fukui Prefecture, allowing guests to enjoy a truly special night filled with engaging content and limited-edition merchandise.
The Fukui Prefecture’s pop-up event, which was a huge success last year, returned with exciting new offerings that highlight traditional crafts revamped for modern lifestyles. Guests enjoyed an array of curated products including contemporary Echizen lacquerware, traditional Japanese washi paper, and Echizen pottery, along with workshops led by Fukui’s artisans.
Highlights from the VIP Event
Guests at the VIP event expressed their excitement and appreciation for LUMINE Singapore’s unique approach to Japanese fashion. They remarked, “LUMINE Singapore is the only place to experience Japanese fashion culture in Singapore. I can’t wait to see what exciting content awaits in the coming years!” Another feedback included praise for the warm and attentive customer service that is distinctively Japanese.
The event wasn’t just about showcasing products; it also featured special novelties to thank guests for their continued support. Customers who made a purchase of TOMORROWLAND or UNITED ARROWS products received exclusive souvenirs—unique designs celebrating the anniversary.
Fukui Prefecture Collaboration
In its second year, LUMINE Singapore has amplified its partnership with Fukui Prefecture. This year’s event was enriched with cultural exchange activities, including workshops where participants created their original items using washi paper. Led by Yoshinao Sugihara, a washi sommelier and president of Sugihara Shoten, the workshop saw participants immerse in the art of paper-making, highlighting the beauty and texture of washi.
Participants shared their experiences, noting how simple techniques led to personalized creations—a testament to tradition meeting personal artistry.
Moreover, a lacquer workshop led by Tetsu Uchida from Urushi Rindo allowed attendees to craft brooches using sustainable materials, thus merging tradition with innovative eco-friendly practices. The participants found this experience refreshing and an eye-opener towards a future-oriented lifestyle.
Culinary Delights: Fukui’s Soul Food in Singapore
As part of this celebration, LUMINE Singapore also collaborated with JAPAN RAIL CAFE Singapore to offer Fukui’s iconic Sauce Katsu Bento, showcasing the flavors of the region through authentic culinary experiences. This dish alone attracted a staggering 287 orders, surpassing initial expectations, and included Fukui sake, which resonated greatly with patrons.
Additionally, on August 29, an event at JAPAN RAIL CAFE brought together local buyers and influencers to promote Fukui’s unique culinary heritage, along with traditional crafts. Governor of Fukui Prefecture, Tatsuji Sugimoto, and other stakeholders engaged in promoting Fukui’s cultural essence, making it an unforgettable experience for attendees keen on exploring Japan’s beauty. Many expressed interest in visiting Fukui after experiencing its offerings in Singapore.
