On August 29, a special VIP event was organized to celebrate this significant milestone, which attracted over 3,000 attendees, including 44 distinguished VIP guests. This exclusive event featured a showcase of new collections and unique workshops in collaboration with the Fukui Prefecture, allowing guests to enjoy a truly special night filled with engaging content and limited-edition merchandise.

The Fukui Prefecture’s pop-up event, which was a huge success last year, returned with exciting new offerings that highlight traditional crafts revamped for modern lifestyles. Guests enjoyed an array of curated products including contemporary Echizen lacquerware, traditional Japanese washi paper, and Echizen pottery, along with workshops led by Fukui’s artisans.

Moreover, a lacquer workshop led by Tetsu Uchida from Urushi Rindo allowed attendees to craft brooches using sustainable materials, thus merging tradition with innovative eco-friendly practices. Culinary Delights: Fukui’s Soul Food in Singapore


As part of this celebration, LUMINE Singapore also collaborated with JAPAN RAIL CAFE Singapore to offer Fukui’s iconic Sauce Katsu Bento, showcasing the flavors of the region through authentic culinary experiences. This dish alone attracted a staggering 287 orders, surpassing initial expectations, and included Fukui sake, which resonated greatly with patrons.

Additionally, on August 29, an event at JAPAN RAIL CAFE brought together local buyers and influencers to promote Fukui’s unique culinary heritage, along with traditional crafts. Governor of Fukui Prefecture, Tatsuji Sugimoto, and other stakeholders engaged in promoting Fukui’s cultural essence, making it an unforgettable experience for attendees keen on exploring Japan’s beauty. Many expressed interest in visiting Fukui after experiencing its offerings in Singapore.
