In a significant move, Kutak Rock has added Susan Nelson to their Spokane office as of counsel in their Litigation practice group. Effective March 25, Susan's impressive background and legal expertise are set to strengthen the firm’s services in complex civil litigation.

She has advised and advocated for clients across various civil issues, showcasing proficiency in areas such as employment law, business disputes, intellectual property, and wills and trusts.
Susan’s diverse case portfolio includes matters involving wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, and hostile work environment claims, alongside negligence cases, disciplinary matters, and non-compete agreements. Her adeptness also encompasses trademark infringement, breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, tortious interference, unfair competition, and estate and trust disputes.
Academic Credentials and Experience
Susan holds a Juris Doctorate from
Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in history from
Whitman College, located in Walla Walla, Washington. During her law school years, she gained valuable practical experience by clerking for Judge K.J. Montgomery for two significant years in Cleveland.
Her professional journey has led her to be admitted to practice in the states of
Washington and
Oregon, and she is authorized to represent clients in the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, as well as the District of Oregon. Susan is also a member of the
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and has the esteemed right to practice in front of the
United States Supreme Court.
