Rivermont Schools Announces New Purpose-Built Campus
Rivermont Schools is thrilled to share exciting news regarding its Lynchburg North campus, soon to be known as Rivermont Lynchburg Leesville. The school is set to relocate and reopen in August 2025 at a newly renovated facility located at 742 Leesville Road in Lynchburg, Virginia. This strategic move underscores Rivermont's commitment to better serve students with autism spectrum disorder and other educational challenges.
Enhancements for Student Empowerment
The new campus aims to create an enriched learning atmosphere for children and young adults aged 5 to 22. With the additional renovations, the upgraded location will supersede the previous facility on Forest Hills Circle. The core mission remains to empower students who face behavioral, emotional, and educational hurdles, enabling them to grow and succeed.
Key features of the new campus include:
- - An outdoor playground for physical activity and creative play experiences
- - Life skills rooms to teach practical, everyday skills
- - Multiple specialty and therapy rooms dedicated to various student needs
- - Spacious, modern classrooms designed for interactive learning
Audra Daniel, Principal of Lynchburg Leesville, expressed enthusiasm about the facility’s new features. “In addition to accommodating and supporting more students, we’re eager to expand our services to include independent living and vocational skills training,” she remarked. The introduction of a sensory room will also play a crucial role, providing a much-needed space for students with sensory sensitivities.
Commitment to the Lynchburg Community
The newly designed location aims to ensure that students' daily commutes remain efficient, with no significant changes expected in travel times. Rivermont Lynchburg Leesville will maintain the exceptional programs and services that have earned trust within the local community and among educational district partners. This change signifies a strategic investment in the well-being and future of the school's diverse student population.
“This move reflects our ongoing dedication to high-quality, individualized education,” said Darren Pfaff, the Regional Vice President. “We are excited to expand our footprint in Lynchburg, demonstrating our profound commitment to providing vital support and resources to families in the area.”
As renovations progress, Rivermont Schools looks forward to involving the community through tours and open house events that will be announced in the near future.
