PowerPay Joins Forces with Alex's Lemonade Stand to Fund Childhood Cancer Research

PowerPay Partners with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research

In a groundbreaking initiative, PowerPay, an innovative AI-driven financing platform, has partnered with the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to bolster research on childhood cancer and enhance support for affected families. This collaboration encompasses PowerPay's national reach, connecting over 12,000 contractors, merchants, and medical professionals to promote community participation and create a direct impact through contributions via a dedicated donation page hosted by ALSF.

Mike Petrakis, the CEO and Founder of PowerPay, expressed the company's commitment to the mission of ALSF, stating, "This partnership reflects our dedication to supporting the communities and families we serve. We firmly believe in Alex's Lemonade's mission to transform the lives of children battling cancer. Working alongside them, we aim to bolster their research-led strategies and amplify their success in funding groundbreaking treatments that make a difference where it’s most needed."

Childhood cancer represents a grave challenge, accounting for the leading cause of disease-related deaths among children in the United States. Alarmingly, daily, 42 children receive a cancer diagnosis. Despite this critical issue, federal funding for childhood cancer research remains disproportionately low.

The foundation itself originated from a humble lemonade stand run by four-year-old Alexandra Scott, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and sought to raise money for cancer research. Her initial efforts in 2000 raised $2,000, and in the years leading up to her passing at age eight, she had personally raised over $1 million. Today, ALSF stands as the largest independent charity dedicated to childhood cancer in the United States, having accumulated over $300 million and financed more than 1,500 research grants while aiding countless families since its inception in 2005.

"Working with community-centric businesses like PowerPay is crucial to progress in childhood cancer research and brings hope to families in need," stated Liz Scott, Alex’s mother and Co-Executive Director of ALSF. "With over 400,000 new cases of childhood cancer diagnosed globally each year, partnerships like this bring us closer to innovative treatments and potential cures."

PowerPay and the ALSF have strong local ties, with ALSF based in Wynnewood and PowerPay in Wayne, Pennsylvania, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Philadelphia area in addressing childhood cancer.
