2025 Industrial Technology Innovation and Investment Promotion Conference

On March 26, 2025, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, was the center stage for the 2025 Industrial Technology Innovation and Investment Promotion Conference, an event that united entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators from around the globe. The gathering emphasized the theme, "Innovate for Excellence, Invest in the Future,” encouraging both domestic and international participants to choose Nanjing as their partner in growth.

Approximately 800 attendees were present, hailing from prestigious enterprises, leading universities, innovative platforms, foreign embassies, and various international organizations. The conference served not only as a showcase but also as a strategic platform for understanding Nanjing’s vibrant industrial investment landscape, featuring successful case studies in technology and industry innovation.

During the event, key initiatives and strategies aimed at fostering technological innovation and investment were announced. Notably, agreements for 102 major projects were signed, totaling an impressive planned investment of more than 130 billion yuan (about $18 billion USD). Major projects highlighted included the inauguration of several key innovation platforms, such as the Jiangsu Provincial Concept Validation Center and the Nanjing Academy for Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation. Additionally, the establishment of the Nanjing (Jiangbei New Area) Disruptive Technology Innovation Center marked a pivotal moment in showcasing the region's commitment to pioneering transformative technologies.

One of the highlights was the formation of four industrial task forces focusing on areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, biopharmaceuticals, and next-generation information and communication technology (ICT). This underscored Nanjing's determination to concentrate resources and develop quality production forces that are innovative, high-end, and sustainable.

The conference also featured keynote speeches from notable figures, including Dr. Xiangyang Shen from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hermann Simon, recognized as the "Father of Hidden Champions," and Dr. Nicolas Peter, Senior Vice President of BMW Group. Their insights into industry advancements provided robust strategies to propel Nanjing’s innovation-driven growth.

Attendees also explored 52 high-tech exhibits from Nanjing's eight pillar industries, showcasing not only world-first innovations but also significant domestic achievements that have set the benchmark in global market share.

The prime focus of the signed projects addressed leading industries and high-quality initiatives, ensuring strong demonstration effects. Moving forward, Nanjing aims to maximize the opportunities provided by the global resource connection platform established during this conference.
