C-United Launches 'Tanzania Edelweiss' Coffee Nationwide



C-United Ltd., based in Minato, Tokyo, is set to launch its first-ever nationwide release of sustainably sourced coffee, 'Tanzania Edelweiss', beginning Thursday, October 23rd. This initiative is a significant milestone as the company’s specialized CU Crew, composed of individuals from various backgrounds, has crafted this unique blend at their in-house roasting facility.

A New Chapter for CU Crew


The introduction of 'Tanzania Edelweiss' marks the first time that coffee roasted by CU Crew will be available at all 'Kohi-kan' and 'Kohi-kan Kura' locations across Japan. Previously, coffee roasted in-house was only sold in two location stores in Ginza as 'Ginza Blend'. This expansion signifies a commitment to inclusivity in the workforce and aims to integrate disabled employment into core business practices. CU Crew focuses on creating a unique flavor profile with every brew, ensuring a distinctive cup that reflects sustainability and quality.

'Tanzania Edelweiss' boasts a delightful aroma reminiscent of nuts and spices, perfectly pairing with a refreshing citrus acidity, gentle sweetness, and rich body. This blend is particularly enjoyable in the colder autumn and winter months, serving as a perfect companion to chocolate and baked goods.

Hailing from high-altitude farms located between 1,650m to 1,820m, near Kilimanjaro, this coffee benefits from significant temperature variations that enhance flavor and aroma. The commitment to sustainability in farming practices includes promoting biodiversity with about 50,000 trees planted and ensuring reasonable employment opportunities for local school graduates.
