In 2026, Nagano Prefecture reaches a significant milestone—its 150th anniversary since its formation in 1876. To commemorate this momentous occasion, a series of events are being organized across the prefecture, including a special mini concert in Ginza, Tokyo. This concert will feature performances of Nagano-related songs by local artists.

The event, titled "Let's Sing Together: The Prefectural Anthem 'Shinano no Kuni' Mini Concert," is scheduled for August 21, 2026, from 15:10 to 16:10 at the event space on the second floor of Ginza NAGANO. This occasion aims to celebrate Nagano's rich nature, culture, and history through music. Attendees will have the chance to sing along to the prefectural anthem, "Shinano no Kuni," covering all six verses, while enjoying some of Nagano's famous snacks and coffee.

Participation Details

Featured Artists

The mini concert will feature guest artists Yuki Watanabe (flute) and Rima Ando (clarinet), both of whom are part of the "next—Nagano Artist Promotion Project" aimed at supporting young musicians. Watanabe has been playing flute since she was 12 years old and has performed at various venues, while Ando started learning piano at six and has extensive experience performing across different genres.

Singing the Prefectural Anthem

On the same day, many celebrations will take place across Nagano, including a large chorus of the prefectural anthem. Ginza NAGANO will participate online, allowing attendees to join in singing and share their feelings for Shinshu despite being physically distant, creating a special moment of connection.

Enjoying Local Treats

Guests will not only bask in the joy of music but will also have the opportunity to savor Nagano's local sweets and engage in conversations about their experiences in the region. As a bonus, commemorative collaborative products for the 150th anniversary will be given away during the event.

Exhibition of Historical Materials

The venue will also host an exhibition with replicas of documents related to Nagano Prefecture's 150th anniversary, on loan from the Nagano Prefectural Historical Museum. This will provide insights into the significant history of the region.
