Accelerating Certification Acquisition Among Employees
In today's competitive landscape, continuous learning is essential for employee growth and organizational success. Appirits, a leading web services company, has taken significant steps to bolster certification acquisition among its workforce. By implementing a structured, intensive learning design and robust support systems, they have achieved impressive results in encouraging their employees to pursue certifications.
The Importance of Structured Learning Design
A well-structured learning design is critical in helping employees balance ongoing education with their daily work responsibilities. To achieve this, Appirits recognized the need to redefine the learning experience for employees aiming to obtain professional certifications. The following challenges were identified during the design phase:
1.
Uncertain Learning Volume: Employees felt uncertain about the overall learning requirements and often found it challenging to start their study journey.
2.
Individual Learning Difficulties: Many employees struggled with self-study, making it hard to maintain the momentum needed for progress.
3.
Relevance to Practical Work: Employees found it difficult to link their study material with real-world applications, which hindered effective retention of knowledge.
To tackle these concerns, Appirits adopted a concise, focused approach to study preparation. Tools such as “short-term study periods” and “internal study groups” were introduced to create an environment conducive to learning while balancing work commitments.
Key Strategies Implemented
1. Defining Learning Limits
Appirits set clear expectations on the amount of study time required for certification preparation, limiting it to approximately 10–19 hours over a span of 2 to 3 weeks. This targeted timeframe made it easier for employees to see manageable learning goals, integrating their studies seamlessly with ongoing projects.
2. Internal Study Groups and Knowledge Sharing
Moreover, Appirits established internal study groups and knowledge-sharing sessions. These forums allowed employees to voice questions and share insights, enhancing collaboration while minimizing the sense of isolation often associated with self-study.
3. Supportive Certification Programs
In tandem with the internal study initiatives, a certification support system was launched, providing additional resources and guidance for employees as they navigated their study journey.
Results Achieved
Thanks to these concerted efforts, employees across various departments—engineers, designers, consultants, marketers, sales personnel, and back-office staff—participated in certification examinations. In a remarkable turnaround, Appirits produced 103 successful candidates, marking a record high in their employee pass rate.
These achievements underscore the effectiveness of the new learning paradigms fostered at Appirits, demonstrating that thoughtfully designed learning experiences combined with robust support systems can yield extraordinary results.
