Experience the Sweet Crunch of Tottori Watermelon at Tokyo Station
This summer, Tottori watermelon is making a splash at Tokyo Station! On July 2, 2026, a special sales event titled "Shari Shari to Ama - Sweet Tottori Watermelon, Available in Plenty!" will be held at the Gransta Tokyo Square Zero, located in the underground level B1 of the station. This event is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to experience the delightful crunch and sweetness of freshly harvested Tottori watermelons, straight from the prefecture!
Event Details
The event is jointly organized by Tottori Prefecture and JA Zen-Noh Tottori, highlighting the agricultural prowess of the region. From 11 AM to 6 PM, visitors can purchase whole and cut watermelons directly from the producers hailing from the major watermelon-growing areas of Daiei, Kurayoshi, and Katsuura. Additionally, a selection of other local products including dairy items, pickled garlic, and confections will be available for sale, showcasing the rich culinary culture and tourism appeal of Tottori Prefecture.
Opening Ceremony
The day kicks off with an opening ceremony at 11 AM, where the Governor of Tottori Prefecture is scheduled to promote Tottori watermelons. This will be followed by activities that allow guests to engage with Tottori’s gastronomic offerings as well as enjoy a special greeting from Tottori's beloved mascot, Toripii.
