ATP Flight School Recognizes Scholarship Recipients and Enhances Alumni Support Programs

ATP Flight School Awards2025 Scholarships to Graduates

ATP Flight School has recently celebrated the inaugural winners of its 2025 alumni scholarship program, aimed at providing financial assistance to its graduates as they embark on their professional journeys. The first of four scholarship giveaways recognizes two talented individuals: Drake Steele and Jay Ribar. Steele, currently working as a Multi-Engine Flight Instructor at ATP's Phoenix-Mesa Gateway training center, will receive a scholarship for the Airbus A320 Type Rating course. Meanwhile, Ribar, who also serves as a Multi-Engine Flight Standards Instructor in Fort Myers, Florida, has been awarded a scholarship for the Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP CTP) at ATP JETS in Dallas, Texas.

These scholarships represent the launch of a robust new initiative aimed at promoting the advancement of ATP alumni. Each quarter, graduates and instructors will have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that cover the cost of such crucial training courses, with a total value exceeding $15,000 available. This commitment underscores ATP's dedication not only to training pilots but also to facilitating their growth within the aviation industry.

The scholarship program comes hand-in-hand with ATP's expanded alumni outreach efforts, which now include sponsored passes for up to 10 alumni each quarter to attend significant industry events such as conferences and expos. Already this year, ATP has supported 30 alumni attending events like the Women in Aviation International (WAI) Conference, the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo, and the Professional Asian Pilots Association (PAPA) Expo.

Michael Arnold, ATP's Vice President of Marketing, highlighted the positive influence of these initiatives on the alumni community. One graduate who attended the WAI Conference has reportedly secured three interviews with major airlines, reflecting the significant outcomes that can stem from these opportunities. Another recipient, who participated in the SUN 'n FUN Expo, has successfully set a class date with a leading airline. Arnold points out that such results embody ATP's ongoing commitment to supporting its graduates beyond their initial training, providing them with essential resources to thrive throughout their careers.

In tandem with these scholarships, ATP has recently partnered with Spitfire Elite to offer exclusive discounts for its alumni who seek professional interview preparation for major airline positions. To ensure comprehensive access, ATP will fully sponsor two alumni per month for this extensive preparation service—furthering the school's mission to equip its graduates for success.

Furthermore, these new offerings bolster the no-cost, no-fee initiatives of the ATP Alumni Association, which includes lifetime access to the Flight Instructor Refresher Course (FIRC) through King Schools. To date, ATP has invested over $750,000 in providing these refresher courses for alumni, reinforcing its commitment to their ongoing career development.

Applications for the next round of scholarships for the Type Rating and ATP CTP are currently open at ATPAlumni.org. Additionally, alumni can apply for sponsored passes to attend EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, one of the largest aviation events in the world.
