Recap of SNOWFLAKE WORLD TOUR TOKYO Day 1
On September 11th and 12th, 2025, Snowflake Inc., a leader in AI data cloud solutions, held its global event, the "SNOWFLAKE WORLD TOUR TOKYO," at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. Over 10,000 registered participants converged to witness the latest innovations in AI data cloud, featuring keynotes and sessions led by prominent local companies.
The first day kicked off with a keynote titled "The Value of AI and Data in Business" presented by Ryuro Ukita, who was appointed as the new President and CEO just a month prior. Ukita reflected on the growth of Snowflake Japan, emphasizing the importance of community and partnerships. He encouraged businesses to embrace cloud capabilities, highlighting that starting small can lead to building significant success. Ukita underscored the event's purpose as a learning opportunity in the realm of data and AI.
Following Ukita, CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy took the stage, emphasizing the transformative power of data and AI for every organization. He discussed various case studies from major national companies, showing how they harness Snowflake's offerings. Additionally, a video conversation with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella further illustrated their strategic partnership in areas such as cloud deployment and data sharing.
A panel discussion featured industry leaders including Kyoko Kato, Senior Executive Officer and Group CIO of All Nippon Airways, and Hisashi Matsunaga, President of Data & Technology at Dentsu Japan, who elaborated on the shared data platforms within their organizations. Furthermore, Tadao Nagasaki, CEO of OpenAI Japan, exchanged insights with Jon Robertson, President of Snowflake Inc. APJ. They discussed the rapid advancements in AI and how its implementation can enhance productivity five to tenfold, thereby unlocking human creativity.
Moreover, on the same day, an Executive Media Roundtable convened with Snowflake's CEO Sridhar and Product EVP Christian Kleinerman, moderated by Ryuro Ukita. The discussion revolved around Snowflake's AI strategy, focusing on the democratization of AI through Agentic AI, the execution capabilities of Snowflake's products, and how they plan to operate in the AI era.
