Strengthening Parent-Child Bonds Through Gaming: 5th NESY Fortnite Parent-Child Tournament

Strengthening Parent-Child Bonds Through Gaming

In recent years, the concerns surrounding children's internet usage have become a pressing societal issue. Child-rearing supervision and educating children about the risks of online environments are paramount to ensuring their safety. To address these issues creatively, Colloid Co., Ltd., run by CEO Takashi Sano, alongside the eSports team Not Enough, will host the "5th NESY Fortnite Parent-Child Tournament" on October 5, 2025. Scheduled for a thrilling virtual competition starting at 1 PM, this event promises to be more than just a gaming contest.

The tournament fully embraces the popular game, Fortnite, allowing children and their parents to collaboratively engage in a friendly competitive environment. It is designed with the aim to foster natural communication, strengthen their bonds, and encourage discussion about online safety. Recent surveys indicate concerning statistics: over 61.3% of children reported having no experience learning about the internet's dangers. The need for parental involvement has never been more evident. Parents play a critical role as educators, especially within the home environment.

Importance of the Event

The event not only emphasizes entertainment through gaming but also serves as an educational platform. Statistics from the National Center for Child Health and Development indicate that children who enjoy spending time with their families demonstrate a significantly lower tendency to overuse the internet. Hence, the NESY Fortnite Tournament provides families the opportunity to engage with each other while partaking in a shared activity that also addresses the shocking realities of internet risks. Moreover, the event aims to equip parents with the tools and knowledge necessary to establish rules and boundaries regarding internet use, all while having fun during gameplay.
