David Allison currently serves as a managing director at Westlake BioPartners and brings with him over 15 years of rich experience in healthcare investing, company formation, and translational research. His impressive background in venture capital and biotechnology aligns perfectly with the mission of the Rice Biotech Launch Pad. By recognizing promising health technologies and guiding their development, Allison is set to provide valuable insights that will be crucial as the accelerator works towards creating effective healthcare solutions through medical advancements.

He earned his doctorate in bioengineering from Rice University and holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering with honors from the University of Iowa.

David Allison is the 15th member added to the advisory board of the Rice Biotech Launch Pad. His fellow board members include prominent figures such as Jason Bock, founder and CEO of CTMC; Albert Cha, managing partner of Frazier Life Sciences; and renowned academics like Robert Langer of MIT.
