Tesla's Supercharger Network Reaches 700 Installations in Japan
In a significant achievement for sustainable transportation, Tesla has successfully completed the installation of its 700th Supercharger in Japan, expanding its charging network across the nation to a total of 707 units at 141 locations. This development is part of Tesla's ongoing commitment to promoting sustainable mobility and enhancing the convenience of electric vehicle (EV) usage.
Tesla's Supercharger, which is designed in-house by the company, is an advanced charging solution capable of delivering a full charge in just a matter of minutes. Strategically located to minimize the number of stops and charging durations during travel, these Superchargers outperform other charging technologies available in Japan. With a maximum output of 250kW, drivers can gain approximately 275 kilometers of range within 15 minutes.
The Supercharger network is built upon Tesla's published charging standard, the North American Charging Standard (NACS), which is being adopted by nearly all automakers, including major Japanese manufacturers. The NACS standard accommodates both normal and fast charging, ensuring widespread compatibility and a bright future for EV charging infrastructure in Japan and beyond.
The promotion of electric vehicles relies not only on the performance of the vehicles but also on the development of a seamless charging environment accessible from anywhere. Tesla is committed to ensuring that vehicle owners can easily charge their EVs by simply plugging in wherever their journeys take them.
Economic Benefits of EV Charging
Electric vehicles offer various charging options that cater to individual lifestyles. Tesla's Supercharger network not only provides rapid charging speed and a smart charging experience but aims to keep costs reasonable, making it cheaper to drive compared to traditional gasoline expenses.
To mark the milestone of the 700th Supercharger installation, Tesla is launching an exciting campaign where participants can experience the benefits of electric vehicle ownership. This campaign invites users to enjoy a week-long experience with either the Model 3, its popular midsize sedan, or the Model Y, a versatile midsize SUV, alongside access to the world-class Supercharger network.
