THE ORAL CIGARETTES Wraps Up Their Tour with SiM
On November 18, THE ORAL CIGARETTES held the final concert of their tour "ALL MY LIFE TOUR 2025" at COMTEC PORTBASE in Aichi. This highly anticipated tour kicked off on September 17 with a show at Zepp Osaka Bayside, featuring seven locations across Japan. The line-up included notable bands such as coldrain, SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!!, go!go!vanillas, SCANDAL, The BONEZ, and HEY-SMITH, creating an exhilarating collaborative live experience that concluded with a powerful performance from SiM.
As the lights dimmed right on time, the audience erupted in cheers, and the air crackled with electric energy. SiM took the stage with their edgy track "PANDORA," instantly captivating the audience. The fists were raised high during songs like "WHO’S NEXT" and "Boring People, Fucking Grays," as their overwhelming energy overshadowed the anticipation for THE ORAL CIGARETTES performance. In addition, the crowd was treated to an unforgettable scene of synchronized headbanging during the anthemic new track "CHAMPiONS," followed by the irresistibly catchy "DO THE DANCE," which had the audience bouncing with enthusiasm.
During their MC segment, MAH from SiM revealed that Yamanaka Takuya, the vocalist and guitarist of THE ORAL CIGARETTES, had expressed a desire to collaborate with bands scheduled to play at the canceled festival "PARASITE DEJAVU 2024." MAH casually noted, "There’s no specific reason SiM was invited to this energetic tour finale, but creating legends from nothing is what bands do!" He also humorously remarked on Yamanaka's MC skills, insisting they had only three variations, and poked fun at a past New Year’s party that had been held at Yamanaka's home, teasingly foreseeing his future success.
SiM's setlist featured a relentless barrage of tracks including the heavy-hitting "Blah Blah Blah," the aggressive "Amy," and the grand sing-along anthem "The Rumbling." Their finale included a powerful invitation to the audience, as MAH passionately declared, "Remember, getting knocked down but standing up again is what true strength is all about!" Their closing tracks, "KiLLiNG ME" and the invigorating "Get Up, Get Up," perfectly encapsulated their powerful stage presence and message.
As the second half of the concert commenced, THE ORAL CIGARETTES took center stage leading off with "OVERNIGHT," immediately igniting a wave of excitement amongst fans. Yamanaka encouraged the crowd by saying, "Today is the finale, so are you ready to take it to the next level?" As tensions rose, they launched into the intense "DUNK feat. Masato (coldrain)," highlighting the band’s passion and energy from the get-go. Their set showcased a diverse range of songs, including the theatrical, danceable "Shala La" and the intricately synchronized guitar riffs of "Maze."
Yamanaka’s playful banter created an engaging atmosphere as he teased his previous remarks about having only three stories, hinting at more surprises throughout the night. The atmosphere of playful rivalry, particularly unique to this two-man event, made for an unforgettable experience. During the mid-section, they performed the noisy post-punk track "Tonight, the silence kills me with your fire," leading into an emotional performance of "UNDER and OVER," which unified the audience with the band in shared movement and energy.
The intro of "OD" sent thrills through the crowd as Yamanaka traversed the stage with a handheld microphone, acting as a charismatic game master igniting excitement at this newly emerged live venue in Nagoya. Yamanaka stated, "From coldrain to SiM, all of them are invaluable to our lives. I'm so happy to have you all here today, and I want everyone to embrace and love our scene even more. We’re planning to keep bringing lively shows to you!" He introduced a humorous MAH story to a delighted audience, providing an amusing and engaging climax as they neared the end of their set.
THE ORAL CIGARETTES included massive hits like "狂乱 Hey Kids!!" to keep the energy high, and in collaboration with MAH, they presented "CATCH ME feat. MAH (SiM)," further hyping the crowd. Their closing track, "Savior Of My Life," resonated deeply with lyrics that conveyed positivity and hope and left the audience feeling inspired. Yamanaka concluded with a heartfelt message wishing everyone’s lives shine brightly and emphasized that today marked a significant turning point.
Post-performance, the dynamic continued with audience interaction as members introduced their merchandise and exchanged banter, showing the camaraderie that had developed over the tour. Yamanaka reiterated the importance of the relationship with SiM, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their longtime support, especially during trying times.
In the future, THE ORAL CIGARETTES will participate in numerous large festivals, including "MERRY ROCK PARADE 2025" and "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26." Additionally, they will take part in a special all-night event at Spotify O-EAST on February 6, 2026, and commence their tour, "ERASE the BORDER TOUR 2026," starting February 16, featuring a string of live shows across the country. This final concert served not only as a capstone to an incredible tour but also as a springboard for the band's ongoing journey and shared experiences with their devoted fanbase.
