Folded Flag Foundation Announces Annual Gala to Honor Gold Star Families in 2025
Folded Flag Foundation's Salute to Service Gala
The Folded Flag Foundation is gearing up for an impactful event on September 18, 2025, as it hosts its annual Salute to Service Gala at The Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. This year's gala holds special significance, marking the first time the organization brings its crucial fundraising efforts to the capital city. The Folded Flag Foundation is dedicated to honoring the legacy of America's fallen service members and supporting their families through educational scholarships.
All proceeds from the event will directly contribute to funding educational scholarships and support grants for the spouses and children of U.S. military personnel and government officials who have died due to hostile actions or during combat-related incidents. The evening promises an exceptional dining experience enriched with a carefully chosen selection of wines, fostering connections among attendees who share a commitment to supporting Gold Star families.
Guests will not only relish the fine dining atmosphere but also have the opportunity to participate in both silent and live auctions. These auctions will feature unique experiences and items, creating memorable opportunities to contribute to a worthy cause. One of the highlights of the evening will be a keynote speech from Austin English, a five-time recipient of The Folded Flag Foundation's Gold Star Scholarship. Austin, whose father, U.S. Army Captain Shawn L. English, was killed in action in 2006 during a deployment in Iraq, will share his journey of navigating life after loss and how the foundation has played a pivotal role in his pursuit of education and honoring his father’s legacy.
Kim Frank, the president of the Folded Flag Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm about hosting the gala in D.C.
