Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii: Love for LA Initiative
In response to the devastation caused by wildfires in Los Angeles, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has stepped up to offer support to affected families, first responders, and the community at large through its newly launched initiative, "Love for LA". This campaign is an embodiment of the brand's Aloha spirit, emphasizing care, compassion, and unity during tough times.
Purpose of the Initiative
The wildfires have led to mass displacements and the loss of homes and livelihoods for many families. Bad Ass Coffee recognizes this tragedy as a familiar scenario, given its own experience with the devastating fires in Maui just a year and a half ago. CEO Scott Snyder stated, "The heartbreaking situation in California is reminiscent of our own experiences, and we are committed to making a difference through our effort."
What the Initiative Entails
The core of the "Love for LA" initiative revolves around raising funds to help those impacted by the fires. Here’s how the community can contribute:
- - Exclusive Merchandise: Purchasing specially designed merchandise, like the Love for LA Mug and Sticker, where all proceeds go directly to wildfire relief efforts.
- - Bad Ass for GOOD: From January 30th to February 11th, 15% of all coffee sales will be donated, with a goal of reaching out to families and first responders in need.
- - Round-Up for Relief: Customers shopping in-store can opt to round up their purchases at checkout, with the extra amount going to support wildfire relief efforts.
- - Direct Donations: Contributions can also be made directly through the official Bad Ass Coffee website.
Funds collected will support two vital organizations involved in wildfire relief:
- - California Fire Foundation: This organization provides emergency financial assistance, shelter, and critical support to families affected by wildfires.
- - Direct Relief: A non-profit that distributes medical supplies and equipment to communities and first responders in need.
Legacy of Giving
The "Love for LA" initiative builds upon the success of the previous "Love for Maui" effort, which raised over $80,000 for recovery following the devastating wildfires in West Maui in 2023. Both initiatives form part of Bad Ass Coffee's philanthropic arm,
Bad Ass for Good, a program dedicated to turning compassion into tangible action.
Since its inception on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee has aimed to be more than just a purveyor of premium Hawaiian-grown coffee; it strives to spread the warmth and kindness associated with the Aloha spirit. Snyder emphasized the company's commitment: "We believe that community and compassion are just as vital as the coffee we serve."
Join the Mission
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii warmly invites customers and community members across the nation to engage in the "Love for LA" initiative. Together, we can provide relief, assistance, and hope to those whose lives have been disrupted by the wildfires.
