CVS Health Marks Grand Reopening of Hurricane-Damaged Store in Hendersonville

CVS Health Celebrates the Reopening of Hendersonville Store

CVS Health has proudly reopened its pharmacy location in Hendersonville, marking a crucial step in the community's recovery after being devastated by Hurricane Helene. Located at 522 South Main Street, this store was significantly damaged during the storm, compelling it to shut its doors in September 2024. After extensive repairs and renovations, the store has reopened to serve the local residents once again.

On May 12, 2025, CVS leaders gathered with state and local officials to commemorate this important event. Among those present were Maureen Cormier, SVP of Field Operations East, and Devon Peightal, Pharmacy District Leader, who expressed their excitement at being able to serve their community again.

"After months of hard work, we're thrilled to welcome back customers and patients to our South Main Street CVS Pharmacy store," stated Cormier. The timing of this reopening is significant; it is the first store to resume operations at the bustling intersection of South Main Street and Spartanburg Highway, an area heavily affected by the storm's aftermath.

In the months following Hurricane Helene, which caused widespread flooding and damage across North Carolina, CVS Health remained resolute in its commitment to assist affected communities. The company provided over $1.5 million in support to various organizations aiding recovery efforts. This included direct grants and in-kind product donations, emphasizing their role as a consistent supporter of the recovery processes.

The rebuilt CVS store features improved facilities, including an expanded pharmacy area, a dedicated private consultation and vaccination section, and a redesigned layout. These enhancements are aimed at creating a more convenient and accessible shopping experience for customers and patients alike.

Local government representatives, including Matt Calabria from the Governor's Recovery Office for Western North Carolina, acknowledged the store's reopening as crucial to restoring services. “We are delighted that CVS is now able to reopen this location. The reopening is a testament to the hard work and dedication of so many and will undoubtedly enhance residents' access to essential medications,” said Calabria.

CVS’s commitment to the Hendersonville area extends beyond just a physical storefront. With its reopening, residents now have reliable access to pharmacy services vital for their health care needs. The store operates Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

As one of the leading health solutions providers in the nation, CVS Health continues to expand its role in the community, providing comprehensive health services to over 90 million plan members through their pharmacy benefits manager. Their integrated services are designed to improve patient access to healthcare while reducing overall expenses.

The reopening of the South Main Street store embodies the resilience of the Hendersonville community and CVS Health’s commitment to serving its residents. As the health landscape continues to evolve, pharmacies like CVS play a pivotal role in ensuring individuals have the resources they need to maintain their health and well-being.
