'The Fastest Spring in the World' Debuts on FOD
Fuji Television has officially announced the exclusive streaming of its new drama, "The Fastest Spring in the World," on FOD, starting on June 19 at 25:29. Each week following the premiere, new episodes will be released every Thursday at the same time. This highly anticipated drama is based on the popular manga serialized in Kodansha's "Kiss" magazine, which has also gained traction on the women's manga app, "Palcy."
Cast and Plot
Starring in dual lead roles are Mitsuki Yoshida, known for her prominent film roles, and Itsuki Fujiwara from the popular dance and vocal group, THE RAMPAGE. Together, they bring the compelling narrative to life.
The story revolves around Maho, a 26-year-old manga artist who has been writing a hit series called "Revival Line." However, unbeknownst to many, the inspiration behind her work is rooted in the settings created by her late high school senior, Yukishima, who passed away ten years ago. Maho has kept this secret to herself until a life-changing event occurs, leading her to unexpectedly time travel back to her high school years where Yukishima is still alive.
In her quest to return Yukishima's creations, Maho discovers herself facing her unresolved feelings from the past. The story takes audiences on a thrilling emotional journey encapsulating the idea of redoing moments in life. How does love evolve when one gets a second chance?
This unique time-travel romance touches upon the universal desire to rewrite one's life. In a world where one can revisit moments, the question remains – if given the chance, how would you change your past?
Story Summary
The narrative follows Maho, who, despite her newfound fame, struggles with guilt for not giving recognition to Yukishima. During an award ceremony, Maho breaks free from her emotional constraints and declares to the audience that she is not the sole creator of "Revival Line," revealing her bond with Yukishima's unfinished work. This honesty is sparked by her deep regret and wish that Yukishima himself could have finished his own stories.
Maho's subsequent time travel forces her to confront past relationships, misunderstandings, and emotional truths. As the plot unfolds, audiences are treated to a roller-coaster of emotions that question the nature of love, ambition, and the consequences of our choices.
