TMEIC Opens Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Texas

TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of Japan's TMEIC Corporation, has taken a significant step in its expansion by inaugurating a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas. This new plant, named Twinwood, spans an impressive 280,000 square feet and represents the third American manufacturing site for TMEIC. It is also the largest among its 13 global facilities, showcasing the company's commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence in the power electronics sector.

The Twinwood facility, expected to create over 200 jobs immediately, aims to expand its employment to 500 positions as operations ramp up. This move not only supports the local economy but also underscores TMEIC's strategic focus on bolstering its technological capacities in key sectors, including artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and energy.

Kensuke Miyano, Vice President of the Power Electronics Systems Division at TMEIC Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm about the new facility, emphasizing its significance as a milestone in the company's long history. He stated, “Located in the energy capital of the world, TMEIC Twinwood will enable us to stay at the forefront of innovation.”

Capabilities and Offerings

The Twinwood facility is designed to produce a range of advanced power electronics products, including industrial-scale uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems tailored for the booming data center market, high-power medium-voltage drives, and other cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, the facility will feature a client training center and sophisticated technology laboratories, which are integral to enhancing customer support and fostering continuous innovation.

TMEIC has steadily built its manufacturing base in the Houston area, also operating two other facilities—TMEIC Westport and TMEIC Katy—alongside its North American headquarters located conveniently within the Houston Energy Corridor. The company’s regional presence ensures streamlined operations and bolstered support for clients across various industrial markets.
