On September 9, 2025, the iconic Teatro Mercadante in Naples hosted the annual event for one of the most influential guides in the pizza industry,
50 Top Pizza. With Spanish journalist and influencer
Veronica Zumarraga as the presenter, the ceremony attracted significant attention and was streamed live on social media platforms.
Earning the top spot in a thrilling tie were
Una Pizza Napoletana from New York, helmed by Anthony Mangieri, and
I Masanielli from Caserta, led by Francesco Martucci. Following closely behind,
The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo, managed by Daniele Caruso, clinched the second position, while
Leggera Pizza Napoletana from São Paulo earned third place under the guidance of André Guidon.

In addition to these rankings, the ceremony honored various individuals and organizations that contributed to enhancing the value of pizza over the year. The
2025 Special Award - Fedegroup Prize was awarded to Jonathan Goldsmith of
Spacca Napoli Pizzeria in Chicago. This year also saw recognition for the
Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani and
Gruppo la Piccola Napoli for their work promoting the artisanal tradition of Neapolitan pizza worldwide.
A highlight of the event was the appearance of
John Arena, who received the
2025 Icon Award for his lifelong dedication to artisan pizza in the United States. He founded the
John Arena Foundation, which focuses on creating culinary opportunities for individuals with neurological disorders, garnering widespread acclaim for his efforts.
The curators of
50 Top Pizza, Barbara Gera, Luciano Pignataro, and Alberto Sapere, expressed their pride in the achievements of the past year, stating, "We are immensely satisfied and honored by the outcomes of 2025.
