CloroxPro's Clean Index 2024 Highlights Greener Cleaning Trends and Industry Challenges

CloroxPro's Clean Index 2024: A Comprehensive Overview

In January 2025, CloroxPro unveiled its 2024 Clean Index report, an extensive study that analyses the changing dynamics within the cleaning industry. This year, over 1,500 cleaning professionals and consumers contributed valuable insights, which shed light on new trends towards eco-friendly cleaning solutions, alongside the hurdles faced by those on the frontline of cleanliness.

Eco-Conscious Solutions on the Rise

The report revealed a remarkable increase in the adoption of eco-friendly cleaning products. Approximately two-thirds of cleaning professionals indicated that their facilities have already integrated eco-conscious solutions. In addition, around 60% reported that their organizations have committed to increasing the usage of environmentally friendly products as part of their business objectives. This results signal a major shift in the industry, as cleaning professionals seek to embrace sustainability without compromising efficacy.

The Challenge of Burnout

However, the Clean Index report did not shy away from addressing significant challenges. Burnout emerged as a pressing issue, with 50% of cleaning professionals admitting to experiencing burnout over the past year. This substantial concern is troubling, especially with nearly half of respondents indicating an uptick in burnout levels over the last two years. Cleaning professionals attributed their fatigue to several factors, with a notable lack of training highlighted as a critical reason. Without adequate training, employee knowledge about cleaning protocols dwindles, compromising efficiency and overall competence. Alarmingly, 60% of professionals expressed a lack of confidence in their ability to ensure proper cleaning and disinfection protocols at their facilities, a situation aggravated by insufficient training initiatives.

Consumer Sentiments on Hygiene

The study also explored consumer perspectives, with more than half voicing ongoing concerns about germ exposure in workplace settings. An impressive 79% of consumers underscored the importance of providing disinfectant wipes, indicating a strong preference for businesses that prioritize hygiene. This feedback not only highlights the importance of reactive cleaning strategies but also signals a growing demand for ready-to-use (RTU) cleaning solutions capable of efficiently maintaining high-traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces.

CloroxPro's Commitment

Kyra Caskey, the Senior Director of Marketing at CloroxPro, commented on these insights, affirming the company's dedication to supporting cleaning professionals amid evolving industry demands.
