Schick Japan's Exciting New Initiative
Schick Japan, a leading name in the Japanese razor market, has unveiled its first business competition specifically designed for university and graduate students, titled "Schick Beauty Grooming Shaker" (BGS). This initiative aims to challenge the existing norms and encourage participants to generate innovative strategies and ideas that can reshape the beauty grooming sector.
Competition Overview
Starting from June 25, 2023, Schick's dedicated website for the BGS competition went live, with official entries being accepted from July 1. The competition invites ideas that not only rethink traditional practices in the beauty grooming space but also focus on providing value to the modern consumer.
As part of its brand evolution from a "razor company" to a comprehensive "beauty grooming company," Schick Japan envisions transforming shaving from merely a mundane task into an engaging beauty grooming experience. The competition embodies their mission, encapsulated in the phrase "Make Beauty Grooming Joyful," which aims to deliver joy and happiness through effective beauty grooming practices.
Identifying Key Challenges
The primary challenge for participants this year is to elevate the usage rate of shaving products among Generation Z consumers. Despite significant developments in the grooming industry, many individuals, regardless of gender, continue to suffer from skin irritations due to a lack of awareness and use of pre-shaving products. Schick Japan is on the lookout for creative and engaging strategies to integrate effective pre-shaving skin care into the consumers' routine, helping to make it a norm in daily grooming activities.
Participants are encouraged to propose a range of solutions, including product innovations, marketing campaigns, and creative outreach methods.
