Mitsui Fudosan Group Adopts Counterworks' Event Management System

Mitsui Fudosan Group Embraces Shop Counter Enterprise

In a significant move to enhance operational efficiency, Counterworks Inc. has officially integrated its commercial facility DX system, "Shop Counter Enterprise," into the Mitsui Fudosan Group. This state-of-the-art event management functionality aims to streamline the handling of event spaces across Mitsui Fudosan’s diverse commercial properties. The management of daily operations will be facilitated through subsidiaries, including Mitsui Fudosan Commercial Management and Lalaport Agency.

Mitsui Fudosan stands as a leading urban developer in Japan, known for its comprehensive range of assets comprising office buildings, residential areas, commercial facilities, and hotels. The group focuses on urban development to tackle societal challenges and boasts a robust network of large-scale commercial facilities. Mitsui Fudosan Commercial Management is responsible for the management and operation of these commercial properties, enhancing their value, while Lalaport Agency drives promotional and event planning efforts, thereby improving customer experiences and fostering revenue growth.

Addressing Operational Challenges

The need for implementing Shop Counter Enterprise arose from various operational challenges related to event space management among group companies. Previously, gathering real-time availability of spaces across properties was cumbersome, leading to potential lost opportunities. Additionally, the management of provisional bookings and deadlines was conducted via Excel, a process fraught with complications and a risk of oversight. Further complicating matters, paper-based document handling of application forms and invoices proved tedious, increasing the workload on teams responsible for approval and processing.

To tackle these issues, the introduction of the Shop Counter Enterprise is expected to enhance both event space utilization and operational efficiency. Initial implementations will focus on the "schedule management function" and the "back-office (contract and billing) management function." This will allow for the visualization of storefront schedules and centralized management of proposed versus actual situations across group companies, maximizing sales opportunities through alert functions. Moreover, the automation of application processes and the ability to generate invoices electronically will drastically reduce reliance on paper and manual processes.

Initial Rollout and Future Aspirations

The first phase of this rollout will commence at "Mitsui Shopping Park Urban Dock Lalaport Toyosu" with plans for expansion to all facilities hosting events under the Mitsui Shopping Park brand within the year.

Insight from Mitsui Fudosan

Tetsuya Ichihashi, Group Leader at Mitsui Fudosan’s Commercial Facilities Business Division, stated, "Mitsui Fudosan Group is committed to strengthening urban development through sports and entertainment, enhancing the value of real experiences within our spaces. We aim to increase the frequency and richness of events held at our properties with this integrated system. Previously, our management of event space bookings relied heavily on Excel, but with the Shop Counter Enterprise, we expect a significant enhancement in collaboration across our properties. The integration of our back-office processes will lead to a reduction in document handling, allowing our staff to focus more on providing high-value tenant support."
