Financial Assistance for SMEs in Tokyo

The Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is set to launch its 12th grant program on April 21. This initiative aims to bolster industrial strength and sustainable economic growth in the region. On March 30, the corporation will also hold an informational seminar and individual consultation session for potential applicants.

Overview of the Equipment Investment Assistance Program

3. Promotion of Upgrades: Projects necessary to introduce new machinery that allows for improved competitiveness and productivity, aiming for growth at the center of the regional economy.

Funding Limits and Rates

  • - The assistance rate may vary, with certain categories allowing for increased funding based on the objectives met, such as energy-efficient measures or guaranteed wage increases.
  • - All equipment purchases must meet a minimum unit price of 500,000 yen (before taxes).
  • - Grants are earmarked for equipment installed within Tokyo and the surrounding metropolitan area, although businesses registered within Tokyo can apply for projects in neighboring prefectures.
