Vantage Foundation's Commitment to Community Welfare
On November 18, 2025, Vantage Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to social responsibility by partnering with Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This collaboration underscores the foundation's ongoing efforts to make a positive impact in communities that require support. KSK, a prominent non-governmental organization, has been actively working for over 17 years, focusing on the needs of the urban poor, Orang Asli, and houseless individuals across Malaysia. Their extensive approach includes a Food Bank, various empowerment programs, and a Soup Kitchen, all driven by the belief that "Hunger Knows No Barriers."
During this event, ten dedicated volunteers from Vantage Foundation collaborated with KSK staff to execute outreach efforts aimed at alleviating food insecurity. They gathered at the Kechara Food Bank located in Setapak, which serves as a vital hub for storing and distributing essential food items and daily necessities to struggling families. The Vantage team prepared and distributed food aid packs to six identified households in the Cheras and Jinjang areas, each carefully selected by KSK due to their vulnerable status within the community.
The beneficiaries of this initiative included families living in unstable conditions, elderly individuals without family support, and households with disabled members who are particularly at risk of experiencing food insecurity. By engaging directly with these communities, volunteers gained firsthand insight into the everyday challenges faced by those living in poverty. Many households are dependent on regular assistance to fulfill their basic needs, and the contributions from the Vantage Foundation served to enhance their access to fundamental supplies like rice, canned goods, hygiene products, and other daily necessities.
Steven Xie, Executive Director of Vantage Foundation, expressed the significance of this outreach experience, stating, “Participating in this outreach allowed us to better understand the structural challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Kuala Lumpur. It was a humbling reminder that small acts of service can have a substantial impact when directed towards those in genuine need.”
Vantage Foundation, established in 2023, is an independent charitable organization launched at the McLaren Technology Centre in the UK. Since its inception, it has collaborated with numerous organizations worldwide, including Grab Indonesia, the iREDE Foundation in Nigeria, Teach for Malaysia, and Instituto Claret in Brazil, all aimed to initiate significant social change through impactful initiatives. On the other hand, the Kechara Food Bank aims to prevent at-risk individuals and families from descending into homelessness by providing essential dry goods and support. Unlike KSK’s traditional soup kitchen services catering to the homeless, the Food Bank is focused on stabilizing the living conditions of marginalized families by supplying them with the basic necessities needed to thrive. This initiative is paramount to fostering community resilience and ensuring that everyone has access to essential resources.
