Suburban Propane's Heartwarming Initiative with NASCAR Foundation Delivers Comfort to Hospitalized Children

Suburban Propane Brings Comfort to Young Patients

In a heartwarming collaboration, Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. has joined forces with The NASCAR Foundation to deliver Speedy Bears to pediatric patients at St. Joseph's University Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey. This initiative took place on September 10, 2026, and aimed to provide comfort to children during their hospital stays while showcasing Suburban Propane's commitment to community service.

A Meaningful Partnership

The delivery of the Speedy Bears follows closely after National Teddy Bear Day on September 9, symbolizing a larger effort to support children who are undergoing medical care. The Speedy Bear Program is part of The NASCAR Foundation's Speediatrics Children’s Fund, an annual mission to deliver NASCAR-themed teddy bears to young patients in hospitals across North America. Annually, this initiative reaches around 135 hospitals, distributing more than 5,000 bears, brightening the days of countless children and their families.

Nandini Sankara, Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy at Suburban Propane, emphasized the company's dedication to enhancing the lives in communities they serve. She stated, "At Suburban Propane, caring for our communities extends far beyond delivering propane. Through SuburbanCares, we're proud to partner with The NASCAR Foundation to bring comfort to children facing difficult circumstances. We hope these Speedy Bears provide smiles, encouragement, and a reminder that an entire community is thinking about them."

Beyond the Bears: Community Engagement

The Speedy Bears donation is just one part of Suburban Propane's ongoing community engagement. The following day, September 11, the company will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive in Jersey City, New Jersey. This event honors the lives lost during tragic events and recognizes the courage of first responders and service members, continuing Suburban Propane's longstanding relationship with the Red Cross. Since 2012, Suburban Propane has supported blood drives across the nation, rallying employee and community support for this vital cause.

"Whether we're delivering a teddy bear that comforts a child or helping the American Red Cross maintain a safe and reliable blood supply, we're honored to support organizations that make our communities stronger," Sankara added.

A Legacy of Commitment

Suburban Propane has built a rich legacy in customer service since its inception in 1928. Headquartered in Whippany, New Jersey, the company is a key distributor of propane and renewable propane while also engaging in related community support initiatives. The company's approach comprises three pillars: Commitment to Excellence, focusing on safety and reliability; SuburbanCares, emphasizing community contribution; and Go Green, promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions.

The partnership with The NASCAR Foundation reflects Suburban Propane's broader commitment to giving back through impactful programs that enhance the health, safety, and well-being of children and families. As an Official Partner of NASCAR, Suburban Propane actively participates in community-focused initiatives beyond the racetrack, creating lasting, positive impacts in regions where they operate.
