Collaborating with the innovative perfume brand 'Hatenko,' this immersive exhibition invites visitors of all ages to delve into the captivating world of Ukiyo-e through a fusion of extraordinary art and aromatic experiences.

What Awaits You at the Exhibition?

Featuring over 300 exquisite works from renowned Ukiyo-e masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Utagawa Hiroshige, the event promises to captivate audiences using advanced 3D animation and projection mapping technology. Attendees can explore around nine distinct immersive zones, each allowing them to step into the dynamic realms of historical and cultural artistry.

After successful runs in cities like Nagoya, Milan, and Tokyo, the Fukuoka exhibition aims to enrich the local cultural landscape by offering a fresh perspective on traditional Japanese art. Previously attracting more than 250,000 visitors, this exhibition is set to be a festival of skillful artistry and innovative presentations, captivating both residents and tourists alike.

Award-Winning Art

The Ukiyo-e Exhibition has received acclaim for its excellence, noted specifically through the CJPF Award 2025 in the project category organized by the Cool Japan public-private partnership platform, underlining its significance in promoting Japan's rich cultural assets.

A Unique Sensory Experience

One of the highlights of the Ukiyo-e Exhibition is its collaboration with Hatenko, which introduces unique scents to complement the visual experience. In the section named "Rei," the delicate fragrance of 'Sakai' is blended into the environment, echoing the soft beauty depicted in Kitagawa Utamaro's art. This enchanting aroma brings life to a stunning collection of beauty portraits.

In the "Miyabi" area, visitors can enjoy the vivacious scent of 'Hanabi,' inspired by Ando Hiroshige's depiction of fireworks in his iconic series. This aromatic journey creates a captivating ambiance, pairing vibrant visual displays with scents reflecting Edo-period festivities, ensuring a heart-pumping immersive experience.

All fragrances showcased can be purchased at the exhibition's merchandise corner, allowing guests to take home a piece of this sensory journey.
