Are you passionate about wearing traditional Japanese attire? Then, you won’t want to miss this opportunity! Sakura Wafuku, a popular kimono rental shop in Asakusa known for its collection of modern, retro, and antique kimonos, is hosting its official model audition to select models for Spring 2026. This is your chance to shine and be a part of something special!

Application Details

The audition invites applications from women aged 25 to 32, regardless of their agency affiliation or previous experience. Applicants should be available for the scheduled events following the audition, ensuring they can fully participate in the exciting journey ahead.

Important Dates:

- Application Deadline: January 9 (Friday) by 15:00
- Judging Period: January 10 (Saturday) to January 18 (Sunday)

Finalists will compete for various prizes, including the Grand Prix and a special judge's award, with potentials for visibility in media such as posters and exhibitions. Award winners will have the chance to appear on posters displayed at Ginza Line’s Asakusa Station and participate in a photoshoot at Asakusa Flower Theatre.

Prizes:

- Grand Prix Winner: Top-ranked contestant will receive the title of Grand Prix and further opportunities.
- Judge’s Special Awards: Up to one participant ranked second to fifth may receive special recognition.

Each prize includes:
1. A model poster displayed at Ginza Line Asakusa Station.
2. Inclusion in a photo exhibition at Asakusa Flower Theatre featuring 3 to 5 images.
3. Optional appearances in a kimono runway show at Asakusa Flower Theatre.
4. Participation in a photoshoot at Asakusa Flower Theatre.

These exciting events will be held on February 1 (Sunday), with hair, makeup, and attire provided by Sakura Wafuku!

How to Enter

To participate in the audition, entries can be made in two ways:

1. For Independent Participants:
- Issue an account through the Machebara app or PC site.
- Register as a broadcaster.
- Select the “Asakusa Sakura Wafuku Model Audition” event from the menu to apply.
