Frederick Health and Infinite Legacy Partner to Honor National Donate Life Month

National Donate Life Month: A Celebration of Life

Each April, Frederick Health works alongside Infinite Legacy to spotlight the importance of National Donate Life Month. This initiative aims to raise awareness of the vital need for organ donors while honoring both the living and deceased donors who have made a profound impact through their gifts.

On April 10, a flag-raising ceremony will be held outside Frederick Health Hospital at 11 AM. This event will not only pay tribute to organ transplant recipients and the families of donors but will also feature remarks from representatives of both Frederick Health and Infinite Legacy. Media personnel are encouraged to attend this significant event.

The demand for organ donation is urgent, with nearly 4,000 individuals in the region waiting for life-saving transplants. Kenny Boyd, the Chief Business Development Officer of Infinite Legacy, emphasizes, "There is a critical need for organ donors. We are grateful to Frederick Health for their unwavering commitment to saving and healing lives."

Infinite Legacy serves nearly 10 million residents across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C., focusing on facilitating organ, eye, and tissue donations while educating the public on the vital significance of registering as donors. By collaborating with 68 hospitals and eight transplant centers, Infinite Legacy is actively working to reduce the number of individuals in need of life-saving transplants.

Angela Nasti, an ICU Manager and liaison for Frederick Health, shares poignant insights: "Being an organ donor means giving someone else the chance to continue their story. By partnering with Infinite Legacy, Frederick Health contributes to changing, saving, and celebrating lives."

The Importance of Organ Donation

Organ donation is a profound act of generosity that saves lives. It offers second chances not only for recipients but also for families coping with loss. Every registered donor can significantly enhance the lives of multiple individuals in need of transplants—from kidneys and livers to hearts and lungs. This month-long celebration is a reminder that every donor story matters and that the act of donating can transform lives.

About Infinite Legacy, the organization facilitates the entire process of organ, eye, and tissue donation. It promotes community awareness regarding the life-saving impacts of donations and consults with community partners to address the critical need for donors. The organization offers various healthcare services across multiple specialties, supported by a dedicated team of health professionals. With roughly 4,000 employees, Frederick Health reinforces its mission to positively impact individual well-being and the overall health of the community it serves.

Furthermore, the national efforts surrounding organ donation are vital, as countless stories continue to highlight the life-changing nature of transplants. During this month, individuals are encouraged to reflect on the importance of becoming registered organ donors. This initiative shines a light on the legislative efforts to increase donor registrations and ultimately save more lives.

In conclusion, as National Donate Life Month unfolds, the collaboration between Frederick Health and Infinite Legacy serves as a beacon of hope and a call to action. With increased awareness and understanding, more individuals can take the essential step to become organ donors, thereby offering a lifeline to those in desperate need of transplants. Join the celebration and consider becoming a registered donor to make a significant difference in the lives of others.
