HaystackID Strengthens European Presence with New Managing Director Appointment

HaystackID Appoints Jeff Shapiro as Managing Director for Europe

In a strategic move to bolster its presence in Europe, HaystackID, a leader in managing complex data, has announced the appointment of Jeff Shapiro as Managing Director for the region. With a focus on legal, compliance, regulatory, and cybersecurity issues, the company seeks to capitalize on Shapiro's extensive knowledge and experience.

Shapiro, a distinguished professional in both legal and technology sectors, is set to drive HaystackID's business development endeavors across the United Kingdom and Europe. His academic background includes a degree from Syracuse University College of Law, and his career path features key roles in several renowned professional-service firms, including a leading global consultancy and a prestigious Magic Circle law firm. During his career, he has specialized in e-discovery, information governance, and cyber response, contributing significantly to clients dealing with complex, multijurisdictional matters.

Relocating to London, Shapiro will collaborate closely with HaystackID’s project management and operations teams located in Dublin and throughout the U.K., providing essential support to the company’s international clientele. Chad Pinson, CEO of HaystackID, praised Shapiro’s deep understanding of the European regulatory landscape and described him as the ideal leader for the company's initiatives in the region. “Jeff's expertise will be crucial as we provide our Global Advisory services, particularly in data privacy, compliance, investigations, and AI governance,” Pinson noted.

This appointment marks a pivotal moment in HaystackID’s expansion strategy, which has already included the recent establishment of a new office in London. Additionally, the company has recently expanded its Global Advisory team by hiring former London Metropolitan Police forensic investigator Matthew Hamilton, whose expertise spans digital forensics and legal discovery within the U.K.’s compliance and privacy framework. Hamilton’s role, under Shapiro’s guidance, is expected to accelerate the firm’s growth in the region as it continues to enhance its local market capabilities.

Nate Latessa, Chief Revenue Officer at HaystackID, highlighted the importance of having a dedicated managing director based in London, stating, “The U.K. and European markets lead the way in utilizing e-discovery technology for regulatory compliance and data privacy. Jeff’s consultative leadership will be integral as we expand our influence in the global arena.”

As part of its commitment to raising awareness of its services across Europe, HaystackID is set to sponsor several high-profile industry events. Among these are the Dublin Tech Summit in May and LegalTech Talk in London in June, as well as participation in various events across Frankfurt, Vienna, Helsinki, and Tallinn. This increased engagement underscores HaystackID's dedication to becoming an influential player within the European legal tech landscape.
