Exciting Times Ahead for the Kyushoku no Tetsujin 2025 Cooking Contest
The anticipation is brewing as the finalists for the prestigious
Kyushoku no Tetsujin 2025 have been officially announced. This annual cooking contest aims to elevate the culinary skills of professionals working in kindergartens, nurseries, and certified children’s centers across Japan. The committee overseeing the contest, which is chaired by Hirotaka Maruyama, has chosen six outstanding teams from numerous submissions received during the preliminary judging round on October 31st.

The final cooking showdown will unfold on
December 7, 2025, at the Habuto Nutrition College located in Yoyogi, Tokyo, where the best of the best will prepare their dishes live, while also sharing the heartfelt stories behind their recipes. The winning team will be crowned as the creators of the best school lunch in Japan, bringing smiles and satisfaction to the nation’s children.
In a special treat for the culinary enthusiasts, the final event will be live-streamed on the
SankeiUp YouTube channel starting at 1 PM on December 7, allowing audiences across the country to join in on this culinary extravaganza.
We invite food lovers and supporters to witness the finale in person! Registration is now open for spectators with limited seating (50 places available). Attendees will not only enjoy observing the cooking process but can also have the chance to taste the incredible dishes prepared by the finalists.
