Randstad's Commitment to Inclusion and Belonging
On September 3, 2024, Randstad Holdings, a prominent global recruitment service provider, announced the release of the "Inclusion & Belonging Report 2024," showcasing its initiatives across 39 countries. Under the leadership of Chairman and CEO Junosuke Dojima and President Tetsu Sarutani, Randstad aims to become the world's most equitable and expert human resource service company. The report provides insights into how Randstad addresses various regional challenges through partnerships with external organizations, continuously pushing the boundaries of inclusivity in the workplace.
The Imperative of Inclusion in Today's Workforce
In the face of rapid change and ongoing labor shortages, there is an increasing demand for workplaces where all individuals can harness their full potential. According to Randstad's Workmonitor survey for 2025, eight out of ten professionals consider a sense of belonging and community awareness critical factors when choosing an employer. This growing emphasis on creating inclusive environments underscores the importance of initiatives aimed at fostering spaces where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can maximize their potential. The case studies highlighted in this report offer organizational leaders and HR professionals practical insights on how to integrate inclusion into their core business strategies rather than viewing it as merely an idealistic notion.
Diverse Activities Addressing Unique Challenges Globally
At the heart of Randstad's global Inclusion & Belonging strategy is the promotion of fairness and equity in engagements with employees, talent, clients, partners, and communities. For instance, in Germany, Randstad has supported over 14,000 job seekers over the age of 50, focusing on age equity. In Australia, a successful pilot project aimed at normalizing the recruitment of individuals with disabilities has been implemented. Additionally, in France, an application designed to connect refugees with job opportunities in high-demand sectors has resulted in 41% of applicants securing employment. These advanced examples illustrate Randstad's innovative approaches tailored to address the challenges faced in different countries.
