Nobu Beach Inn: A New Luxury Destination in Barbuda

Nobu Hospitality, the globally renowned luxury lifestyle brand co-founded by Robert De Niro, has announced exciting new details about the upcoming Nobu Beach Inn. This luxurious retreat is set to become part of The Beach Club, Barbuda, a low-density resort and residential complex on the picturesque Caribbean island of Barbuda.

After the successful launch of Nobu Barbuda - a beach restaurant and lounge situated at the famous Princess Diana Beach in 2020 - De Niro is expanding his vision for this idyllic destination.

Location and Features

Nestled on the island's southwest coast, the Nobu Beach Inn spans 400 acres and features 36 rooms distributed across 17 unique villas. Guests will enjoy a beach club, a sea-view pool, both indoor and outdoor spas, a children's club, an outdoor cinema, two tennis courts, two padel courts, and a fitness pavilion.

Adding to the allure of Nobu, several world-class dining options will be available, including a seaside grill serving locally caught seafood and an Omakase-style sushi bar. The one-story bungalows will be surrounded by lush landscapes, with winding sandy paths connecting them, ensuring that natural, sustainable materials seamlessly blend with the environment. The construction of the Nobu Beach Inn is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Water Sports and Activities

The fully-equipped Water Sports Center will encourage guests to explore Barbuda's breathtaking natural beauty through activities such as sailing, water skiing, and kitesurfing. Sailing boats and motor yachts will be available for sunset journeys, beach picnics, fishing expeditions, diving excursions, and trips to neighboring islands. Additionally, a rotating selection of visiting wellness practitioners, DJs, fitness experts, and chefs will provide unique culinary and wellness experiences.

A Personal Vision of Robert De Niro

For De Niro, the Nobu Beach Inn is more than just a business venture; it is a deeply personal project. He discovered the property over 30 years ago during a boat trip from Antigua and has loved it ever since. When the land became available a decade ago, De Niro, alongside partners James Packer and Daniel Shamoon, seized the opportunity to bring their vision to life.

"From the first moment I set foot on Barbuda, I knew it was special. We aimed to create a place where people feel comfortable, gather, and enjoy the essence of the island. The Nobu Beach Inn is designed to complement the surroundings while preserving the natural beauty of the landscape," De Niro expressed.

Expanding the Nobu Brand

The Nobu Beach Inn will also feature 25 beachfront residences, expanding Nobu's residential portfolio further. Residents will have access to all amenities and services of the Nobu Beach Inn and the option to include their homes in the resort's rental program. Each residence will consist of four or five-bedroom bungalows right on the beach, interconnected by gardens, pools, and pathways, and tailored to suit the buyer’s desires, with prices starting at $12 million.

Accessibility

The recent opening of Burton Nibbs International Airport in Barbuda in October 2024 enhances accessibility, accommodating private jets and ensuring smooth island transfers. V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua offers nonstop flights from North America and Europe, making travel convenient—just three hours from Miami, four from New York or Toronto, and seven and a half from London. From Antigua, the Nobu Beach Inn is only a ten-minute helicopter ride away.
