SEQSENSE Launches New Person Detection Feature for SQ-2 Security Robot

SEQSENSE Enhances SQ-2 Security Robot with Advanced Detection Feature

SEQSENSE Corporation, based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, has officially launched a new person detection feature for its SQ-2 security robot as part of its robotic security services, starting from September 22, 2025. This innovation utilizes proprietary technology to identify intruders and unauthorized individuals within monitored areas, instantly alerting security personnel in real-time, which significantly improves on-site security measures and efficiency in surveillance operations.

The capability operates by notifying operators through a designated monitoring computer whenever a person is detected within a specified area and time frame while the robot is active. This early detection system enables rapid response to suspicious activities, such as identifying potential intruders in facilities after hours.

Previously tested in select locations, this cutting-edge feature is now integrated as a standard offering in SEQSENSE’s security robot services. Notably, no additional hardware installation or option fees are required for its deployment, although some models may not support this feature.

About the SQ-2 Series

The SQ-2 security robot is equipped with a 3D LiDAR system, providing precise three-dimensional mapping, motion detection, and environmental change detection capabilities. Its functionality extends to various security operations, including standing guard, patrolling, and visitor assistance, which aids in reducing management costs for facilities. Moreover, by employing unique detection features, the SQ-2 significantly enhances the overall security level.
