Geely Farizon's Green Smart Mobility Solution Launches at Hong Kong Expo 2026

Debuting the Future: Geely Farizon's Green Smart Mobility Solution at Hong Kong Expo 2026

On June 18, 2026, the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo made its official debut at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, marking a significant landmark for the automotive industry. Among the prominent exhibitors was Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, a recognized leader in alternative energy commercial vehicles. This year, Geely Farizon showcased an extensive line of products that align with its innovative technological roadmap, featuring both methanol-electric and fully electric vehicles.

The offerings included a diverse range of applications, such as public transportation, urban logistics, autonomous vehicles, ferries, and emergency power supply solutions. Their focus at the Expo was to present a comprehensive ecosystem aimed at promoting green, intelligent mobility solutions—integrating transport and energy systems in support of Hong Kong's goal of achieving CO₂ neutrality by 2050.

A Range of Innovative Products

Geely Farizon's product lineup featured the Methanol-REV models, which include the SV, Homtruck, lightweight trucks, and the U12M robotaxi. Notably, the specially designed electric double-decker buses tailored for Hong Kong made their debut as well. With a unique design for local urban transport and sightseeing operations, these buses are set to become iconic symbols of modern mobility in the city. The U12M methanol bus received an emissions exemption from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department, allowing it to commence commercial operations in August, thereby confirming its compliance with stringent local environmental regulations.

During the Expo's opening day, Geely Holding Group hosted a launch event titled “Green City, Smart City.” Here, Geely Farizon announced a strategic partnership with CaoCao, aiming to deploy 100,000 units of the Farizon Robovan by 2030 to foster the establishment of eco-friendly smart cities. This partnership will utilize the 'One Geely' strategy to share strengths in research and development, manufacturing, and ecosystem resources for advancing the mass production of the Robovan and creating an intelligent, AI-assisted logistics network.

Urban Challenges and Solutions

As an international city, Hong Kong has declared its ambitions to achieve CO₂ neutrality by 2050. However, challenges such as high population density, limited land resources, and scarce energy options hinder extensive development of necessary infrastructure, like charging stations. Thus, transitioning to environmentally-friendly transportation must be pragmatically tailored to local contexts and economically viable.

Geely Farizon’s technological roadmap of methanol-electric and fully electric vehicles responds effectively to both urban advantages and development needs in Hong Kong. As a leader in alternative energy commercial vehicles, Geely Farizon has built a vast distribution and service network spanning 64 countries and regions. The company led export sales of alternative energy commercial vehicles from China in the first quarter of this year, reinforcing Hong Kong's status as a key market with the most comprehensive product offerings in their portfolio.

In Hong Kong, various alternative energy products are already operational, including the Farizon SV delivered to the Big Bee taxi fleet. It has gained popularity among drivers and passengers due to its zero emissions, low noise, high performance, and generous interior space.

Looking Ahead

With an integrated ecosystem for green, smart mobility in mind, Geely Farizon aims to deploy methanol-electric ferries across Victoria Harbour, bring Farizon-SV taxis to the streets of Hong Kong, and provide methanol-electric buses for public transit. Their future endeavors include plans for an autonomous mobility series to comprehensively support the city’s aim of CO₂ neutrality by 2050. Furthermore, the company is committed to spreading the successful Hong Kong model globally, sharing China’s innovations in alternative energy transportation worldwide.

In conclusion, Geely Farizon's unveiling at the Hong Kong Expo 2026 not only illustrates the company's innovative spirit in sustainable transport solutions but also embodies a strategic move towards creating a greener future in urban mobility.
