Executives from New York's leading investment banks and law firms recently gathered at the Edison Ballroom for a sold-out gala aimed at promoting global hope and healing through the essential connection between humans and animals. Organized by The Good Dog Foundation, the evening paid tribute to the late Dr. Jane Goodall, marking her legacy and honoring the work of the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) USA and the Blackstone Charitable Foundation.

The event featured a prominent keynote by Elias Weiss Friedman, the creator behind the beloved social media account The Dogist, who has also authored a New York Times bestseller. During the gala, Friedman presented the 2026 Hope & Healing Award to Dr. Jane Goodall (posthumously) and the Jane Goodall Institute USA. He acknowledged their steadfast commitment to animal welfare and environmental conservation, emphasizing their role in fostering interconnectedness among people, other animals, and our planet.

Friedman shared a poignant moment from his recent interview with Goodall, which took place just days before her passing, emphasizing her unwavering belief in the power of individuals to make a difference even in challenging times.

The Blackstone Charitable Foundation was also recognized for its remarkable giving program that empowers communities by supporting nonprofits, including The Good Dog Foundation's popular Workforce Wellness therapy dog initiative. This innovative program allows businesses to arrange visits from therapy dogs to enhance employee well-being and improve workplace morale.
