The AI Film Festival Japan (AIFJ), under the leadership of Kazuki Kurimoto, will be officially joining the "StartSphere Taipei 2026" event taking place on September 3rd and 4th in Taipei City, Taiwan. This engaging event is being conducted at the POPOP Taipei venue, thanks to an invitation from the Industry Development Bureau of the Taipei City Government. On September 4th, AIFJ will host a special 90-minute session titled "From AI Filmmaking to Global IP: Building New Japan-Taiwan Content Pathways."

During this session, an exciting vision for collaborative IP development between Japan and Taiwan will be shared, emphasizing the innovative possibilities that generative AI brings to the table. The event aims to illustrate how AI and advanced production workflows can redefine content creation and distribution in today’s digital landscape.

Bridging Production to Global Markets

This forthcoming session is set to exceed mere production cost reductions; it promises to deliver a comprehensive vision on how generative AI, advanced workflows, and international collaboration can reinvent content creation. Scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM and conclude at noon on September 4th, two members of the AIFJ Executive Committee will take the stage. They will facilitate a bilingual discussion featuring representation from key Taiwanese production studios, ecosystem support organizations, and technology platforms.

1. Co-development of Original IP: The acceleration of concept development, visual prototyping, and world-building through the use of AI.
2. Commercialization and Licensing: Building ecosystems that connect Asian-origin IP to global distribution and theatrical releases, as well as interactive media.

The festival aims to nurture direct partnerships with public organizations like the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), the Taipei Film Commission, local production companies, distribution platforms, and creator tech firms. The goal is to kickstart at least one concrete Japan-Taiwan collaborative content project within the next 12 months.
