Greenbelt Capital Partners Grows Its Team with New Senior Executives

Greenbelt Capital Partners Expands Its Leadership Team

Greenbelt Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in the New Energy Economy, has announced the addition of several seasoned professionals to its leadership team. This strategic move aims to bolster the firm’s investment capabilities and enhance its operational effectiveness as it continues to grow its portfolio in the energy sector.

New Additions to the Team

The firm welcomes Katie Kiersey as the Chief of Strategy and Operating Partner. She will spearhead Greenbelt's new Value Optimization team, which is designed to help the firm's portfolio companies achieve their maximum potential through effective strategic and operational initiatives. With a decade of experience at Bain & Company, where she handled numerous diligence efforts and post-acquisition projects, Kiersey brings invaluable expertise and an impressive track record. She is also recognized for her academic prowess, holding a B.B.A. with a focus on Alternative Assets from Southern Methodist University.

Joining her is Erika Mapes, the new Managing Director, who previously excelled at Onex Partners and Oaktree Capital Management. Mapes, who has a strong background in finance from Barclays, adds significant knowledge of the financial sector. Her experience with Greenbelt from 2014 to 2018 provides her with a unique understanding of the firm’s strategic vision and operational dynamics. She earned her B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University.

Austin Major, another pivotal addition, joins as a Principal, bringing his expertise from Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners. Major boasts robust analytical skills honed during his time at Morgan Stanley. He holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an Economics degree from Dartmouth College.

Lastly, Elouise Roche steps in as Vice President, following her tenure at Goldman Sachs, where she specialized in sustainable energy investments. Roche’s foundational career at Morgan Stanley provides her with a solid grounding in finance, and she holds a B.S. in Economics from Duke University.

Strategic Direction for Growth

Chris Manning, CEO and Managing Partner of Greenbelt, expressed enthusiasm about these additions, noting that each new hire brings a wealth of experience in their respective fields. The firm is particularly keen on leveraging Kiersey's leadership over the Value Optimization team to drive effective growth strategies for portfolio companies that are focused on energy resilience and innovation。

In June, Greenbelt closed its third fund, Greenbelt Capital Partners III L.P., with a substantial $1 billion in capital, showcasing its commitment to investing in projects that support sustainable energy solutions and energy-efficient technologies. The firm, which manages around $3 billion in assets, aims to align with management teams that are similarly dedicated to transforming the energy landscape.

As global energy demands evolve, Greenbelt Capital seeks to finance middle-market enterprises that contribute to the energy sector's transition towards more sustainable and resilient practices. The company has a history of significant equity commitments, totaling approximately $6 billion across its portfolio and an impressive engagement in over 260 transactions worth more than $70 billion.

Through strategic hiring and focused investment objectives, Greenbelt Capital Partners is positioning itself for sustained growth in an industry ripe with opportunity for innovation and improvement. Greenbelt's commitment to excellence and strategic foresight underscores its influential role in shaping the energy economy of the future.
