A New Era for Itoi Gumi Doken's Uniforms

After eight years, Itoi Gumi Doken Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Sapporo, Hokkaido) is set to unveil an entirely revamped employee uniform, which will be officially worn starting October 1, 2025. This significant change marks a milestone for the company as they strive to create a more enjoyable and fulfilling workplace as per their midterm management plan "New Midterm Vision 2028." The new uniform is a product of collaboration with Mizuno Corporation, known for their expertise in sports gear.

Development Process

The comprehensive redesign process began in the summer of 2023, aligning with the company's 130th anniversary. A project team comprised mainly of young employees from various departments was formed in January 2024 to facilitate the redesign. This cross-departmental collaboration allowed for open discussions on design, functionality, and practicality. Intensive internal surveys, interviews, and prototype fittings further informed the decision-making process, resulting in a year-long discussion and iteration that brought the new uniform to fruition.
