Seminar Recap: Transformative Insights from Yoshinobu Hanamitsu
On August 19, 2026, AI Storm Co., Ltd. (formerly Jecseed) held a special seminar in collaboration with Japan Human Capital Co., Ltd., featuring Yoshinobu Hanamitsu, the founder of Demaecan. The event took place on the 39th floor of WeWork Shibuya Scramble Square and attracted around 90 enthusiastic attendees.
This seminar was designed to share the entrepreneurial journey of Hanamitsu, who launched a delivery service from scratch and took it public. Participants not only included seasoned entrepreneurs and business professionals but also students who either had started their ventures or aspired to do so. The turnout marked a significant increase from the previous event held in June, which had around 60 attendees, reflecting a growing interest in entrepreneurial challenges.
Seminar Highlights
During his address, Hanamitsu recounted his initial foray into the business world at the age of 21, inspired by a scene from the movie
The Internet, where a delivery order was placed online. This pivotal moment led to the conception of Demaecan, a business idea that was groundbreaking at that time. When he began, there were hardly any companies offering online delivery services, and he launched the endeavor with just ten employees.
To increase the number of partnering restaurants, he personally visited many establishments, recruiting approximately 2,800 within the first year. Despite early challenges with customer orders, Hanamitsu worked closely with the restaurants to enhance visibility through flyers and online promotions, steadily increasing usage and order volume.
As competition intensified, he forged stronger relationships with restaurant partners and continued to invest in advertising and promotions, eventually paving the way for Demaecan's public listing. Hanamitsu's journey wasn't without hardships, but his resilience allowed him to rise again, and he now focuses on addressing new social issues.
Current Initiatives
Today, Hanamitsu is spearheading two notable projects:
1.
Pet Protection Initiative: This initiative aims to eliminate the euthanasia of dogs and cats, creating a framework that supports owners unable to care for their pets due to health or age reasons. Hanamitsu envisions building facilities capable of housing up to 10,000 cats, as part of a broader
