A New Era of Coating Technology: Collaboration between Shibaura Institute of Technology and Hardolas Holdings
Starting on April 1, 2025, a significant partnership will begin between Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) located in Koto City, Tokyo, and Hardolas Holdings Corporation, based in Chuo City, Tokyo. Together, they will launch the "Hardolas Functional Coating Joint Research Course," aiming to develop groundbreaking coating technologies that combine organic polymers and glass-based coating techniques.
Objectives of the Joint Research Course
The initiative aims to contribute to a sustainable society by harnessing the strengths of both organizations to unlock the relationship between the structure and properties of organic polymers. They will specifically focus on creating new organic-inorganic hybrid coatings. Key research areas will include the development and control of hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties, antibacterial and antiviral functionalities, and a deeper understanding of the correlations within the coating's structure and its physical properties.
