Celebrating 70 Years of Innovation: Hisun Pharmaceutical's Gala in Milan

Hisun Pharmaceutical Celebrates 70 Years of Progress

On October 5, 2026, Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. marked its 70th anniversary with a grand Global Partners Appreciation Dinner in Milan, right before the CPHI Milan 2026 event. The dinner was themed "Bridging Cultures, Advancing Health Together," and it successfully brought together key players from the pharmaceutical industry worldwide, fostering networking and cultural exchanges that could lead to new collaborations.

The evening featured notable guests such as Mr. Geng Xiewei, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor from the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Milan, along with various representatives from both Chinese and Italian business associations, including the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy. The gathering served as a platform for industry professionals to reunite and explore future cooperative ventures.

The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Taizhou, where Hisun is based. Inspired by the city's unique frameless lanterns, attendees participated in a lantern-lighting ceremony. This was complemented by displays of Taizhou's traditional arts, crafts, and local specialties, offering international guests a glimpse into the vibrant culture that underpins the pharmaceutical prowess of the region.

Founded in 1956, Hisun Pharmaceutical has been at the forefront of introducing Chinese pharmaceuticals to global markets. A significant milestone came in 1992 when the company’s tobramycin was approved by the U.S. FDA, paving the way for it to become a leading exporter of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Over the years, Hisun has built a robust international business, focusing on high-quality pharmaceutical products, further solidified by obtaining Certificates of Suitability to the Monographs of the European Pharmacopoeia (CEPs) and EU Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications for its facilities.

In 2025, the launch of Hisun’s Internationalization 2.0 Strategy marked a strategic pivot towards deeper engagement in overseas markets. This initiative emphasizes fostering stronger local presences and wider collaboration across the value chain. As part of this strategy, Hisun is committed to strengthening strategic partnerships with top European pharmaceutical companies and research institutions, ranging from joint research and development (R&D) projects to technology transfers and localized manufacturing—efforts designed to cultivate deeper ties between the Chinese and European pharmaceutical landscapes.

Hisun’s extensive journey over these seven decades has transformed it into a comprehensive pharmaceutical and healthcare entity, encompassing research, manufacturing, and sales. Presently, Hisun's products are available in over 100 countries and regions, reinforcing its global impact in APIs, finished pharmaceutical products, and animal health.

The "Milan-Taizhou Night" was more than just a celebration; it was an affirmation of Hisun Pharmaceutical's commitment to international collaboration within the global pharmaceutical community. As the company commemorates its 70 years of achievements, its focus on deepening international ties continues to drive innovation and mutual growth in the pharmaceutical sector. The company looks forward to working alongside its global partners to foster advancements that enhance overall healthcare practices worldwide.
