Florida Polytechnic University's New 25/30 Strategic Plan Set to Drive Growth and Innovation

On March 26, 2025, the Florida Board of Governors officially approved the 25/30 Strategic Plan for Florida Polytechnic University, marking a pivotal moment aimed at enhancing the university's academic standing, fostering growth, and promoting meaningful industry engagement. This ambitious blueprint is designed to chart a new course over the next five years and sets forth the institution's priorities addressing crucial areas such as enrollment and graduation rates.

Dr. Devin Stephenson, who assumed the presidency of Florida Poly last summer, prioritized the development of this strategic plan from day one. He understands the significance of this initiative in shaping the institution's future. In his statement, Dr. Stephenson expressed that the 25/30 Strategic Plan is not merely a set of goals but a comprehensive roadmap. It's crafted to position Florida Polytechnic University as a leader in STEM education, a vital contributor to economic development, and a reliable pathway for students toward success in high-tech careers.

The plan lays out three foundational priorities which are essential for the university’s strategic direction:

1. Comprehensive Institutional Growth: This priority aims for a holistic expansion at Florida Poly through various strategies that enhance academic quality, widen research capabilities, and cultivate partnerships with community stakeholders and industry leaders.

2. Advancement Through Intentional Resource Development: By effectively leveraging financial, technological, and human resources, this goal is focused on supporting academic programs and ushering in innovations in research while also fostering stronger community engagement.

3. Academic and Industry Collaborative Partnerships: Recognizing the importance of collaboration, this initiative emphasizes forging and maintaining successful partnerships with industry experts and academic institutions. If needed, Florida Poly is open to developing properties that would facilitate these vital collaborations.

These priorities reflect a unified vision for Florida Poly's future, where institutional growth, resource management, and strategic partnerships align to magnify the university's influence and create transformative opportunities for students, faculty, and associated industries.

Beth Kigel, the Chair of Florida Poly’s Board of Trustees, underscored the necessity of collaboration in drafting the strategic plan. The plan is backed by insights from industry professionals, educators, and community contributors gathered during the inaugural Strategic Planning Summit in September of the previous year. "This strategic plan exemplifies collaborative power and the innovative spirit that is synonymous with Florida Poly," noted Kigel. She reiterated that the Board is dedicated to supporting Dr. Stephenson and his team in implementing this plan, ultimately enhancing the educational experience at Florida Poly and solidifying its position as an economic catalyst and innovation leader.

As Florida Polytechnic University embarks on this new chapter, the 25/30 Strategic Plan stands as a beacon of its commitment to enriching academic excellence and fostering growth across all fronts, fueling not just the institution’s ambitions but also the aspirations of its future students and the communities they will serve.
